One more down!

I am done with one more of the things I need to get done before my little lady comes. I finished her blessing dress last week, and I am very pleased how it turned out! Ok I might be being a little modest I LOVE IT! I think it turned out very close to the picture! Let me know what you think!

Pneumonia

So Ty-kell has so graciously taken on the role of the sick one since we got back from vacation in Oklahoma. He has been a non-stop sicky. This week he started coughing on Wednesday when he woke up from his nap, and it was an awful cough. Well last night he started running a pretty high fever. So I called his doctors office, and they told us we needed to take him to the emergency room. So around 1:45 in the morning the doctor finally comes in and says he has pneumonia. So now he is on antibiotics once again. Lets just say we are all very tired today, but we are all hoping this is our last sick escapade.

TP

So when you think of TP, what do you think of? This morning I think of The Person That Pulled all of the Toliet Paper off the roll! Who is this person Ty-kell Petty. So today is Monday and my Mondays consist of cleaning and laundry (especially since Ty-kell was sick yesterday with the stomach flu). So I ask Ty-kell to come upstairs and help me get the laundry, so we could get started on it. He came up but he never came down. Since I could hear him I figured he wasn't getting into trouble. Because for this child he is very quite when he is doing something naughty. So after I had sorted the laudry which only took me probably 5 min. I came back up stairs and found this.

He had gone into grandma and grandpa's bathroom and pulled all of the toilet paper off the roll. I guess he needed to blow his nose.

Pregnant Women Gone Crazy

I swear the moment that I am pregnant this homemaking bug hits, and I want to make everything. So my list for this sweet little girl is still reasonable, and I think I am doing really well. Here is my list:
1. Diaper Bag that I love
2. Blessing dress, and shoes
3. Crib bedding
4. Crochet around a blanket
Okay so yesterday I started with a diaper bag. I needed one that I was going to love because it is with you everywhere. I think for some women this is a hard bag to find, because it has to fit everything, be cute, be organized so you can find things. So I found this pattern on the Moda Bakeshop, and I thought the bag was cute and practical. I love the fact that it has a divider and pockets on both sides. The diaper bag I had with Ty-kell (I made it) it had pockets on both sides, but the main compartment everything got lost in. I think I will love this divider. I was going to make it all scrappy like the Moda one but I remembered I had some brown corduroy that I was going to make a skirt out of, and thought that would be better. Thanks to my mom supply of cute fabric I found in her stash an adorable green and yellow polk-a-dot. I thought this will be perfect. It will be manly enough that Tyrone wont be embarrassed caring it around (the last one I made was pink and green, very girly), and it will have a feminine touch. When I finished it this morning I just have to say I love it!

Spontaneous Saturday

So on Saturday we were talking about how Ty-kell loves playing outside, but I find it so hard to let him go out and play because there is nothing in the backyard to do. So, we all had the crazy idea to build a sandbox for the kids to play in. Ty-kell loved helping build the sandbox.
This is a picture of the "men" building the sandbox.
Grandpa and Ty-kell screwing in some screws. Actually They gave Ty-kell the drill as they were finishing up, and Ty-kell sat there trying to get the screw into the drill. Even though that is not how you do it. But he got the screw in all nice and tight he figured out by himself how to adjust it so it would tighten around the screw. And he had to screw in his screw. So they actually aren't screwing, but Ty-kell had to do it to.
It was time to put in the sand, and Ty-kell didn't hesitate getting right in to help.
Now the "men" had to test out there finished project. We all have to say it is definitely a hit.

BIG BOY bed

So for Christmas Tyrone made Ty-kell a big boy bed. He really didn't get it done in time for Christmas but he did a week or so later. Thend for Christmas I made Ty-kell a big boy blanket... I had to unpick some of the things that I had done previous, but I think it turned out adorable. I didn't buy anything for it I just used what we had. My husband also made the bed without spending any money. One of the church buildings was being remodeled so they had all of the old chair railing sitting around and Tyrone said I will take it and made this beautiful bed for Ty-kell. I love it. The wook is oak I think and we stained it dark. My husband is so talented. He also made me one of those leaning latter bookshelves for Christmas that he scavange the wood for the house building sites close to us. You know when you have no money to spend... it pays a lot to be creative. And not to mention it was a ton of fun.The whole bed all done an put together with his new big boy quilt. A little better view of what the bed looks like Ty-kell loving his new bed, he was making the funniest faces. On the back of the quilt I put the train applique that I did for Ty-kell bumper pads. I thought it was a nice touch.

What is it?

So on Wednesday we were able to go to the doctor, and find out what we were having! I have thought this whole pregnancy that I was pregnant with a boy, and so when the lady said that it was a girl. I couldn't breathe at first, and then I just started bawling. I pretty much couldn't stop, it was hard to call and tell people. So, when the lady said it was a girl in both my husband and my mind we thought that this is our little Amea. We are so excited to have her in our family in May.
