Aimee has been wanting a rocker since Ty-kell was born. Now we are expecting our secound child and her wish finally came true. We actually found the chair at DI for $8.00 and it was in need of a little TLC. So we decided that it was worth it to fix it up. It looks brand new, and Aimee loves it. We had to get new barrings, paint, and fabric to cover the chair. We spent $12 dollars on barrings, $14 dollars on paint, and $12 on fabric. I had some extra wood left over from another project that I used to fix the parts that were just too '80's for my wife. She does not like the '80's style.
So we forgot to take a before and after. But this is what the chair looked like before. It didn't have the leg rest, and the side panels were solid wood. Though other than that this is what it looked like.
And this is the finished product. Well almost finished Aimee needs to add on some buttons and ties to hold the cushions down. I re-did the arms and the side panels.
I made it so that it looks more stream-line. We decided to paint it black. Aimee loves it! And I am pretty pleased with it myself.
