The legend...

So this year I sort of adopted my sisters tradition, and decorated our tree after a book. We decided to do The Legend of The Candy Cane. I love this book. It is about a man who comes to a town and opens up a candy shop. He decides to share the candy cane story with everyone. That the candy cane is like a J for Jesus, and that it looks like a shepards hook. And that with his strips we are healed. We had so much fun decorating the tree in red and white.
Ty-kell loved helping.

He liked putting the beads on as a necklace.
Daddy and Ty-kell reading the story.

Thanksgiving Trip

So I figured I better post about Thanksgiving becuase we are going to be decorating for Christmas on Monday. So I always figure better late then never. Well we went to Oklahoma for Thanksgiving it was so much fun. My sister made the best Thanksgiving everything was so wonderful. We actually don't have any picutes of Thanksgiving, but my sister made the cutest pilgram hats. So on friday we decided since Alex and Seth were going hunting we decided to go to the science museum. It was a lot of fun and the kids had a blast. This is Ty-kell and Aliya posing on a bell that I assume was on the Oklahoma boat.
Ty-kell and Parker became very good friends.

Ty-kell got tired, and didn't make it through the whole trip. Oh, how sweet.
Ty-kell and Daddy going down this extremely bendy slide, that is very tall and you go very fast down it. I went down it later with Ty-kell.
Ty-kell and parker enjoying a snack. On Saturday we did family pictures, and then we decided after the kids took a nap and before we went to incredible pizza we were going to take the kids to a park... it was the coolest park. The jungle gym was in shape of a rocket and the play area was chopped up tires so if felt like you were wlking on moon shoes.
This is Ty-kell playing up tall.

The women watching while the men were tiring out the kids, even thought it was probably the other way around.
Ty-kell going down the slide with grandpa.

I am not so sure what my dad is doing but he looks happy.
Landon playing in the chopped up tires.
Ty-kell and I went for a little walk around the park.
Zurie playing with the women. This was our responsiblity.
This is at incredible pizza, they had this cute little train that went around on a track. It was so cute.

Laughing so Hard!

Ty-kell has always been a happy boy, and he laughs a lot. Though, he has never laughed as hard as he did yesterday. We were all laughing so hard we were crying. Tyrone and Ty-kell were having a little snack of Reese's Puffs. Tyrone does what I think is a pretty neat trick and puts a piece of food on his two fingers then he hits his hand, and it pops in his mouth. Well Ty-kell thought it was hilarous. He actually got to the point that just putting the cereal on his hand was making him giggle. You will probably have to turn your speakers way up becuase I had to stand back so Ty-kell didn't know I had the camera. Oh, and sorry for it being so shaky I was laughing to hard to keep it still.

Addictions!!!

Okay so I thought that I was a pretty good mom when it came to the whole binky thing. When Ty-kell was a baby and needed it he got it quite a bit. Though around 8 months I said no more he only gets it at naps and bedtime, and I have stuck to that. So recently when he was getting up from bed he was crying when I told he had to leave his binky in his crib. Then the realization came. Oh, no he is getting too attatched to his binkies. I wasn't sure what to do becuase I enjoy the whole binky thing and I was feeling a little bit of anxiety. I know that it is all around better to get them off the binky, but I didn't know if I could do it. So the other day a parenting magazine came in the mail, and right there on the cover was a binky article so I read it. I had heard prior to this article that babies really shouldn't have their binky past one. Well Ty-kell is past one. So I was talking to my husband about it, and mind you this is before we put Ty-kell down, and he said well no more let's take it away. This is how the conversation went.
Tyrone: Well let's just stop giving him his binky he will do fine.
Me: Are you sure, I am not so sure. Are you sure?
Tyrone: Yeah, he will be fine.
Me: I don't know if I am ready for this.
Tyrone: It will be okay.
So I am happy to report we really have had no issues. Ty-kell cries for just a little bit letting us know that he really doesn't want to be put to bed without his binky, but it has never lasted more than 10 minutes. The only thing that I am not so sure about it for Thanksgiving we are visiting my sister, and we are going on a 14 hour car ride. Without a binky I am feeling a little unsure. But I am not going back to it so, binkies are history until May or June!

Second of all I think my son might be addicted to Horton Hears a Who the movie. Well he loves reading the book too. Every day he has to have a Horton fix. I am glad that he doesn't watch the whole thing. The most he will watch is 30 min, but that does help when I need to get something done.

Missionary Haircut?

Yes, Ty-kell got a missionary haircut already. On Halloween two people called Ty-kell a girl yes a girl. I told Tyrone that is it he needs a haircut.

So Tyrone said ok I will give him a missionary haircut... and as long as it was shorter I didn't care. I have never had the issue with people calling Ty-kell a girl.

And what do you know I dress him up as something very manly like BAM BAM and people think he is a girl. He is making a funny face in all of the pictures because he didn't like the razor so he had to sit on my lap and it was a little better.

I think daddy did a pretty good job!

And the finished product is award winning!

The Petty's have gone Rubble!

So this last weekend and all the creepy stuff going on we had a lot of fun. Friday after daddy got home from school we carved pumpkins in Arizona if you want them for the day of Halloween you have to carve them the day before or they are completly dead.

Ty-kell didn't like touching the gooies. And it was kinda funny when the gooies got stuck to his foot he kept his foot in the air until we came and wiped it off. These pictures are from earlier this month carving with Chad and Rachel.... I didn't take any pictures of us carving on Friday, bad mommmy.

This is Ty-kell smelling the pumpkin. And holding the pumpkin he thought it was the coolest thing ever.
Later that night we went to our ward's Trunk or Treat. We had a lot of fun.And we went as the Rubbles from the Flintstones. Ty-kell loved the idea of Trunk or Treating and once he got the idea he was running to the next car. He was holding his bag like a big person. It was so cute. He loved it.
I told my parents that they couldn't be boring so I said you are going has King and Queen they liked it and I had fun making their shirts. Saturday morning we went to a birthday party for Sophie who just turned one. It was a costume party so we were all able to dress up again. Ty-kell has had a cold lately and with the cold and being outside he was getting worse so we didn't want to take him out Halloween night. Our plan was to go with Uncle Cameron, Michele and Dallin, but we opt to stay home and it was a good thing. Ty-kell loved giving out the candy to the Trick or Treaters even though some of them were kind of scary.

The monkey has now got a peanut...

So our little monkey Ty-kell has a little peanut. Today I had my first doctor's appointment, and we got an ultrasound. It was so much fun to see the little heartbeat. We have been telling Ty-kell that mommy has a baby in her tummy and when we ask him where is the baby he will point to my tummy. So when I got home and showed him the picture I told him that it was the baby and he got all excited and had to show his grandma. He gave the picture hugs and kisses. Ty-kell will be such a good big brother. I have a feeling that it is another boy, so hopefully Ty-kell will have his very own tackle buddy. So our little peanut is growing nice and big. We are all so excited. Oh, and my due date is May 31st! Whahooo! I am not as far a long as I thought I was but it is only a week.

African Safari

We live in Vail, AZ which means it is about 45 min to 1 hour to get anywhere so a lot of time Ty-kell will fall asleep in the car. I always feel so bad for his little neck it looks like it will just break right off. So I started searching on line to see if I could find a free pattern to make a neck pillow.

My mom actually found the pattern and the brillant lady said to find a stuffed animal to put at the end of it so that it would better support there bobbing head. I thought it was just adorable.

So of course we had to make more then one, so we made one for my nieces and nephew. I think that this little african safari is just too cute! The girls are the monkey and the hippo. I couldn't leave it just like that I had to put bows on it because hey girls have to have bows.

This is Ty-kell and daddy sporting the finish product. He loves it he already tries to put it around his neck.
This is a closer look at Parker's neck pillow.

The eensy weensy spider is back...

Ty-kell now knows all the actions to the eensy weensy spider. I cannot get him to do it on camera... though it is pretty darn cute. Ok so my parents are the heroes. Tyrone and I went on a date last night and my parents watched Ty-kell and they got the eensy weensy spider on camera.... so sit back and enjoy the show.

A day in the WILD...

So yesterday was free museum day.
My mother-in-law found out through her daughter's school that if you filled out this thing online you could go to a museum for free. It was a lot of fun. We went to the International Wildlife Museum. It was very cool to see all of the animals and we had a lot of fun. I only have a few pictures beacuse our camera died. After we met up with our friends Adam and April and then we went to another museum for free. It was call The Mini-Time Machine. It was really cool they had a ton of displays of mini's...it was fun. Then we went back to their house and played some games and then I went to the Relief Society broadcast. All in all it was a very busy day. And at the end of it we were all konked out like little babies.

Favorite Pass Time...

Our favorite pass time is when Ty-kell looks through his books he almost does it everyday. He loves book, and he will look through them forever. He will pull one book out look through it sometimes tell himself a story and the close it push it aside and then grab another book, and repeat. I am really hoping his love for books will continue. The funnest thing is he would rather do it himself then let me read to him. Though he does occationally let me read to him but at his own pace he is so funny that way.

Monday Night Wii

So for family home evening activity I wanted to bowl. For Ty-kell this was his first time bowling. It was so funny because when it wasn't his turn he would think it was so great and be doing it himself, and making the funniest sounds.

So this was the final score Ty-kell did really well for his first time.

We're Bananas and maybe a little bit nuts....

So I decided that I was going to make some banana nut bread and I have learned that if I just let Ty-kell help even though it is a messier process... it is a happier process.... So I choose happy. We started by Ty-kell showing the lovely bananas that we will be making banana nut bread with. Now it is time to mush the bananas... I thought I was pretty smart there put it in a bag so he can mash them less mess... haha. Now it is time to add all of the ingredients... Ty-kell thought he should hand mix them.
I am so glad that I had my product tester or things might not have turned out. Just to let you all know I am not a bad mom... Yes Ty-kell is in his pajamas but this is right when he woke up... I had to make banana bread right away beacuse I had jury duty.

2 years and counting down forever

I have been married to my wonderful husband for exactly 2 years. Our life has been a little crazy but we are loving every moment. I cherish every time I get to spend time with my dear husband. He is my hero, and everything I need.
We have been blessed. And we have done the most important things. We have loved deeply, laughed hard, and cried together. we always love to be together.
We are standing infront of the Mesa Temple where we were sealed for time and for all of eternity. I often think back on that day as we are able to return and enjoy the love and spirit that was present the day we were sealed.
We are more in love today then we were they day that we got married and everyday from here we will love more deeply.
Here is to my Knight in Shinning Armor, as we ride of into the sun set side by side. I love you Honey, and I will only love you until forever.
Only for forever,
Your Love
