Laughing so Hard!

Ty-kell has always been a happy boy, and he laughs a lot. Though, he has never laughed as hard as he did yesterday. We were all laughing so hard we were crying. Tyrone and Ty-kell were having a little snack of Reese's Puffs. Tyrone does what I think is a pretty neat trick and puts a piece of food on his two fingers then he hits his hand, and it pops in his mouth. Well Ty-kell thought it was hilarous. He actually got to the point that just putting the cereal on his hand was making him giggle. You will probably have to turn your speakers way up becuase I had to stand back so Ty-kell didn't know I had the camera. Oh, and sorry for it being so shaky I was laughing to hard to keep it still.

Addictions!!!

Okay so I thought that I was a pretty good mom when it came to the whole binky thing. When Ty-kell was a baby and needed it he got it quite a bit. Though around 8 months I said no more he only gets it at naps and bedtime, and I have stuck to that. So recently when he was getting up from bed he was crying when I told he had to leave his binky in his crib. Then the realization came. Oh, no he is getting too attatched to his binkies. I wasn't sure what to do becuase I enjoy the whole binky thing and I was feeling a little bit of anxiety. I know that it is all around better to get them off the binky, but I didn't know if I could do it. So the other day a parenting magazine came in the mail, and right there on the cover was a binky article so I read it. I had heard prior to this article that babies really shouldn't have their binky past one. Well Ty-kell is past one. So I was talking to my husband about it, and mind you this is before we put Ty-kell down, and he said well no more let's take it away. This is how the conversation went.
Tyrone: Well let's just stop giving him his binky he will do fine.
Me: Are you sure, I am not so sure. Are you sure?
Tyrone: Yeah, he will be fine.
Me: I don't know if I am ready for this.
Tyrone: It will be okay.
So I am happy to report we really have had no issues. Ty-kell cries for just a little bit letting us know that he really doesn't want to be put to bed without his binky, but it has never lasted more than 10 minutes. The only thing that I am not so sure about it for Thanksgiving we are visiting my sister, and we are going on a 14 hour car ride. Without a binky I am feeling a little unsure. But I am not going back to it so, binkies are history until May or June!

Second of all I think my son might be addicted to Horton Hears a Who the movie. Well he loves reading the book too. Every day he has to have a Horton fix. I am glad that he doesn't watch the whole thing. The most he will watch is 30 min, but that does help when I need to get something done.

Missionary Haircut?

Yes, Ty-kell got a missionary haircut already. On Halloween two people called Ty-kell a girl yes a girl. I told Tyrone that is it he needs a haircut.

So Tyrone said ok I will give him a missionary haircut... and as long as it was shorter I didn't care. I have never had the issue with people calling Ty-kell a girl.

And what do you know I dress him up as something very manly like BAM BAM and people think he is a girl. He is making a funny face in all of the pictures because he didn't like the razor so he had to sit on my lap and it was a little better.

I think daddy did a pretty good job!

And the finished product is award winning!

The Petty's have gone Rubble!

So this last weekend and all the creepy stuff going on we had a lot of fun. Friday after daddy got home from school we carved pumpkins in Arizona if you want them for the day of Halloween you have to carve them the day before or they are completly dead.

Ty-kell didn't like touching the gooies. And it was kinda funny when the gooies got stuck to his foot he kept his foot in the air until we came and wiped it off. These pictures are from earlier this month carving with Chad and Rachel.... I didn't take any pictures of us carving on Friday, bad mommmy.

This is Ty-kell smelling the pumpkin. And holding the pumpkin he thought it was the coolest thing ever.
Later that night we went to our ward's Trunk or Treat. We had a lot of fun.And we went as the Rubbles from the Flintstones. Ty-kell loved the idea of Trunk or Treating and once he got the idea he was running to the next car. He was holding his bag like a big person. It was so cute. He loved it.
I told my parents that they couldn't be boring so I said you are going has King and Queen they liked it and I had fun making their shirts. Saturday morning we went to a birthday party for Sophie who just turned one. It was a costume party so we were all able to dress up again. Ty-kell has had a cold lately and with the cold and being outside he was getting worse so we didn't want to take him out Halloween night. Our plan was to go with Uncle Cameron, Michele and Dallin, but we opt to stay home and it was a good thing. Ty-kell loved giving out the candy to the Trick or Treaters even though some of them were kind of scary.
